Really, is the origin so important? What do you think?

Look, according to NASA, the Universe has about 13.770 million years of existence. Earth about 4,540 million years and life on Earth about 3.6 billion years.

If you consider Earth and Universe are not the result of an evolutionary process, but God’s creation, as Genesis relates, then we are talking about 5,000 to 10,000 years.

In either case it seems enough time to learn to collaborate together to take care of life, ours and life in the world in which we live.

However, in the XXI century we continue to kill ourselves, excluding ourselves, destroying the planet and thinking that what makes us great is to be rich and powerful or transcendent and sustainable, or whiter / less white, more intelligent / less foolish, my theory / yours.

Building, from our differences?

How is it that despite having developed technology, artificial intelligence, weapons that can destroy us, we have not learned to build together in our differences?

I honestly think it has to do with this myth about “if we understand history we will be able to build the future we want.

The concept of origin as a systemic principle is not offered by Bert Hellinger in an obvious way, although it seems a result of his principles of order and belonging, giving vital importance to the previous generation as generators of life.

Jan Jacob and his followers offer it in the organizational framework giving a significant value to the origin: how the company was founded, where the capital came from, who paid the price and who contributed, are some of the questions they offer to focus on success of the company.

Is it so? If we look at the world we live in, it does not.

Let me give you an example. Today Netherlands is considered one of the countries that mark future trends, they are rich in the global concept of wealth from the economic perspective, their children are considered the “happiest” (whatever that means) according to surveys and seem to be a culture with life quality and innovative.

According to the idea of the origin of the good Dutch teacher, this should not be so, because surely you know that the Dutch were the most ruthless conquerors and exploiters of wealth belonging to other countries in addition to a culture of slavery.

So how did they do it? Well look, it is very simple in the eyes of sociology, that “intelligence” they used to conquer is the same that they used to “innovate”, “conquer the sea” and become a culture of the future, without any remorse or “Karma” for their misdeeds.

And it could offer you hundreds, thousands of examples where the origin “per se” has little or no impact on the outcome of the future.

The importance of looking to the Future

What seems to be common in these “success stories”? A look of the future.

And how do you create that future view? Building together how we do it to keep us alive, living a good life.

It seems that when we mobilize our energy, as our cells do all the time and nature also, to live and take care of life, we build together something that is useful to us all.

In some cases it is very useful to transform experiences into learning and resources. Indispensable? Not always.

Life is not interested in its origin, is not interested in surviving or expanding, does not care about order or belonging, nor the balance, is only interested in life.

And if any of these forms is useful to take care of life it will use them, that does not mean that they become value or operation principles.

Is it the same in social systems as in biological systems? From the perspective of the BlumensteinTheory® yes it is.

So if we want to build in the organization it seems that the invitation is “how do we take care of organizational life?” And what do we mean by “life” in this organization?

As we look back we will not know what we want in the future and until we know what we want we will not know how to achieve it.

This seems to be the starting point to build together. Do you think we start today?
